The surgery worked. The pain didn't leave.

You were told it was a success. Your scan is clear. And you are still hurting, sometimes in places the surgery never touched.

When the surgery is done and the pain is not, this is the next step.

If you have said any of these, you are in the right place.

"Just because they cannot see it on a scan does not mean it is not there."

Total hip replacement

"I felt like I was going crazy trying to explain the sensation."

Spinal fusion

"We're told everything looks fine, so keep doing what you're doing."

Total knee replacement

"Seen orthopedics and neurology, and both walked out of the room without addressing the problem."

Four years post-hip replacement

"By the day, a new pain in some random area pops up."

Five weeks post-knee replacement

"I was told it is normal. Work harder. Get a massage."

Across every surgery type

These are not made up. They are the exact words of people the system stopped listening to.

What Actually Happened

You did everything right. The system stopped looking.

The surgery is called a success the moment the imaging looks right. That is the same moment the system stops looking. And that is the moment you were left alone with a body that did not get the memo.

You advocated for yourself. You went back. You tried physical therapy, chiropractic, injections, and more medication. You were told it was normal, that you needed to be patient, that the scan was clean so nothing more could be done.

Persistent pain after surgery is not patient failure. It is not in your head. It is not something you have to accept because a scan came back clear. A clean scan means the structure looks right. It says nothing about the signal.

Why The Pain Is Real And The Scan Is Clean

Your body is not broken. It is misunderstood.

Surgery heals the structure. But it leaves something behind that no one warns you about, and it sets off a chain your imaging will never show.

01

Surgery leaves scar tissue

Scar tissue is not passive. It grows its own nerve supply and it disrupts the signal between that part of your body and your brain. The area can go numb, quiet, or wrong.

02

Your body loses part of its map

When the brain can no longer read that area clearly, it treats it as a blind spot. It stops trusting it. This is post-surgical disconnection, and it is the part every scan misses.

03

The rest of you compensates

To protect the blind spot, your body recruits muscles that were never meant to carry the load and moves in ways it was never meant to move. This is the Protection Loop.

04

The pain shows up somewhere new

That compensation is what creates pain in places the surgery never touched. Pain that moves. Pain that makes no sense on a scan, because the scan reads structure, and the problem is in the signal.

This is why you can be called healed and still live in pain. Nobody has read your body correctly yet.

Post-surgical disconnection and the Protection Loop are the framework this entire practice is built on. The people I work with are not chasing a little less pain. They want, in their own words, "a normal, healthy life" and to "physically do all the things I want to do." That is the target.

The Person You See Next

"I'm the person you see when the surgery is done and the pain isn't."

I am not another physical therapist, chiropractor, or injection. I work with one kind of person: the one whose surgery was called successful and whose pain never left, moved, or returned. For about ten years, I have done the hands-on scar tissue and nervous system work behind Misunderstood Body, to find the driver everyone else stopped looking for and help your body read itself correctly again.

You will not be rushed here, and you will not have to convince me your pain is real. The room is quiet and built for exactly one thing: understanding what happened to your body. Most people tell me it is the first place since their surgery where they felt believed.

The First Step

The 90-Minute Post-Surgical Pain Investigation

Not a rushed appointment. Ninety minutes with the person the medical system never gave you: someone who has the time, and the reason, to understand your pain completely.

What The 90 Minutes Look Like
Story
The full history nobody took the time to hear. Every surgery, every setback, in your own words.
Complaints
Every symptom, including the ones you were told were unrelated or imagined.
Assess
Hands-on assessment to find the actual driver: the scar tissue and the compensation behind your pain.
Normalize
You leave understanding what is happening in your body and why, most people for the first time since their surgery.
$600
Ninety minutes. Secured at booking so your time is held, and cash-based, so there are no insurance games and no one deciding your care but you and me.

I will never hand you a visit count. The providers who gave you a timeline and then broke it are part of why you are here. I will tell you the truth about your body instead, and even if we decide I am not the right fit, you leave understanding your pain. That answer is yours to keep.

In The Interest Of Being Honest

This is not for everyone.

I would rather tell you now than take your money and waste your time. This work is likely not the right fit if:

Before You Apply

The questions you are already asking.

How is this different from the PT, chiro, and injections I already tried?

All of those treat the site of your pain. My work starts by finding why the pain is there at all, which is almost never the spot that hurts. Scar tissue and the compensation it creates are the drivers the others were not trained to look for. That is the whole reason the same treatments kept failing.

Why would this work when nothing else did?

Because everything else was aimed at the wrong target. When the actual driver is post-surgical disconnection and the Protection Loop, treating the painful area cannot resolve it. You have to address the scar tissue and help your nervous system read that part of the body again. That is a different problem, worked a different way.

How many visits will I need?

I will not give you a number, and you should be careful of anyone who does before they have laid a hand on you. Every post-surgical body is different. Your investigation is where we find out what yours actually needs. I will always tell you the truth about that, even when the truth is not what either of us hoped.

I do not want another surgery.

Good, because I am not surgery, and I never will be. If your fear is that another procedure will only create more of what you are already living with, that fear is well founded. My work is hands-on and it removes nothing. It helps your body use what it already has.

Do you take insurance?

No. This is a cash-based practice on purpose. It means your care is decided by you and me, based on your body, and not by a claims department that has never met you.

I am not in Southern California.
